Default UK students. question

k wots the deal with paying dental bills?

i thought that u didnt pay anything providing that you were a full time student and under 19 but i go today and when im on my way out the receptionist is like k u owe us £35 will u pay it now or next time and im like eh (not wanting to argue incase imw rong) i'll just get it next time n shes like k it'll be about £50 at your next appointment.

now i signed something when i 1st went to that dentists the other week which i basically thought was me saying i was a full time student etc... but i didn't read nante' of it so i really dunno what i've signed which means i've got the upper hand cos i know a bit about contracts and if i haven't read it and understood what i was signing then there was no proper agreement and in theory the contract is voidable. there's another couple of reasons i could get out of it but they're a bit more complicated.

anyways do we pay or not if we're full time students and 18?

another thing thats bugging me is that i needed 2 fillings and the dentist was wondering wether to give me them both at once or do them seperately and she asked if i'd signed the blue form and i sed yeah so then she decided she'd do them seperately "to save me from getting my top and bottom numbed" so i dunno if she's just thought bang i'll stick him in another appointment and take more money.

U need to fill out a form - H20 or something. Unfortunately they aren't gonna give anything away (like the Inland Revenue) - So u need to ask for it!

But once done, they should refund your money!!

Fill out the form and the NHS will refund you, not the dentist. Make sure you get a reciept from your dentist.

Talking of reciepts, did you know, in Italy you can be fined if you don't take your reciept away with you everytime you make a purchase? Amazing eh?

I thought my daughter was entitled to more than she is, confusingly it also appears that being a Uni student isnt classed as full time education, to be classed as full time you have to be educated in class for more than 12hrs. Most Uni classes only last 8hrs even though my daughter has to put in 35hrs of her own.

Thanks Jim , guess my daughter must be doing daft subjects then!!!!!!!!!! Im quite proud of her.

If you look in your subject booklet it will tell you how many hours you will do in your course , my daughter says roughly you will be doing 30 hrs a week.

Good luck with your course.

it wasnt meant as an offence just taking z\ little dig at any social sciences students here. not the hardest of subjects.

i only did about 8 hours the last part of my college block but thats cos we did double the work in the 2nd block.

30 hours when i said i need a proper subject i didn;t mean that proper
