US military going to be drafted??

I don't think I like the idea of a draft.... a very, very good friend of mine is in Iraq right now, and I support him because thats where he wanted to be. But if other friends of mine went and didn't really want to be there... I don't know. I could tell you that I wouldnt want to be fighting with someone who didnt want to be there... what good would that do anybody?

Yeah. Conscription is another word.

Please tell me this is a hoax. I've been afraid of something like this all my life...

If its not, well, I hear Mexico's nice. They gotta catch me to make me fight.

Well it'll give alot of young guys around about my age the kick up the arse they need to get a grip of themselves and would hopefully reinstall a bit of national pride.

military in greece is compulsory. males join the army for a year or something. this happens because of the bad relations with turkey but now they try to change it. the problem is that not many (not enough for today's standards) people want to join the army even if they get paid.

I don't like the idea at all. Bush just wants to send more men to Iraq. The National Guard is already over there. Notice Bush himself avoided going to war but he's so quick to send our men and women into one.

One of my biggest fears is that Iraq will turn into another Vietnam...a long bloody war. I hope this will never happen but I have this nagging feeling....

And the thing about drafting women..I've heard that as well. WTF is up with that??? What would have happened if my mother was drafted..I would be a freaking orphan?
The Gov't took my father and my brother...they aren't going to take me. I will leave the country first.

My dad says this won't go through, that while Americans might love war, they don't love it enough to start sending their sons and daughters to fight it.
