One more urban legend that needs debunking. Ask yourself, does that really sound like Robin Williams? I sure don't think it does. There's a reason for that. It isn't him.

http://www.snopes.com/politics/soapbox/williams.asp

Origins: We don't yet know who is responsible for the piece quoted above, but it definitely wasn't actor-comedian Robin Williams (of Mork & Mindy fame). This item's debut appears to have been a 20 March 2003 posting to the USENET newsgroup alt.motorcycles.harley, and from there it was rapidly disseminated via e-mail and blogs, credited to either "author unknown" or no one at all. The Robin Williams attribution wasn't tacked on until several weeks later, apparently because along the way someone appended a genuine Robin Williams quote to the list as an eleventh item:

"The Statue of Liberty is no longer saying 'Give me your poor, your tired, your huddled masses.' She's got a baseball bat and she's yelling, 'You want a piece of me?'" - Robin Williams.
Obviously the Robin Williams attribution for the final item was interpreted as applying to the list as a whole, so now the entire piece is making the rounds as 'the Robin Williams plan.'

That is okay, because whoever it is still makes a lot of sense.

That is funny. I've read it before somewhere. For some reason, it sticks in my mind that George Carlin was the one who said it. He's always making lists of stuff we could do better and that line about the "caribou will have to deal" sounds like him. LOL Hmm...

It doesn't sound anything like Carlin either. He's a lot smarter than the yahoo who wrote this. He's a lot more open-minded too. There was another similiar thing falsely attributed to him as well. That's why I was skeptical this was Williams the first time I read it, a while ago.

The caribou thing Dennis Miller talks about alot in his act and he did it on Leno. Maybe they lifted something there.

And to the scholar who honestly thought the US would use a comedian peace talks - when they make more sense than the politicians, worldwide, speak for more of the people then we should. Beats having non-Americans sitting on the sidelines piping in when they oughta not!
