Phoning while driving is dangerous too, and not like the jumping off the cliff, it's not just dangerous for yourself but also for others. And other than in traffic jams, when is your driving not impaired by it?
If I am driving safely, how is it a danger to others? I know how I drive, and I know that in most situations I drive just as well while using my phone as I do when I'm not. Like I said, I wouldn't do it if I didn't think it was safe.
If you can drive with the same attention to your driving when you phone and when you don't, you should turn yourself in to any scientific research lab, they'll have loads of fun tests for you because you'd be a unique specimen.
I really hope nothing happens to you, but you are making the risks higher.

Don't jinx yourself... You might wreck tomorrow! Knock on wood!

If they ban cell phone use while driving, they need to ban:

reading the newspaper
putting on makeup
turning around to yell at your kids in the backseat
admiring yourself in the mirror
admiring the nice looking person in the next car
eating while driving
drinking any beverage (not just alchohol)
playing with the radio
looking for a CD
old people who no longer can drive
NJ drivers in general because they are just dangerous.

I am sure that I left some out.

Well if people are that stupid and unable to care for their own safety and others, maybe they should. What would you think of a phoning or drinking or eating driver that would hit a close person of yours? That it's ok because you do it too?

Eat a close person of mine? Erk, that would cause some serious indigestion I would imagine.

I don't think it is okay at all. My point is that driving in general is dangerous, so you should be careful. You can't create a law to fit every occasion. Plus, I never said that I do any of the above. I can't drive and talk on the phone or anything else unless I am in traffic, because NJ people are scary and you must keep an eye on them at all times. It is like the Dukes of Hazzard around here.
