My evening news just did a story on this topic. They reported that eating while driving is actually more dangerous than using a cell phone while driving. I've seen people do some crazy things while driving. Reading a newspaper and shaving (with an electric razor) probably being the worst. Plus, in Florida there are some older people who literally can't see over the steering wheel. They drive these horribly big cars that are just too much for them to handle.

I rarely use my cell phone while driving. Heck, I rarely use my cell phone at all. In my opinion, driving in general is dangerous and you should always be a defensive driver. You never know what the guy next to you is going to do.

I read a list that had the top ten worst foods to eat while driving. I couldn't believe some of the items on there: chili, soup, chicken wings With so many people suing companies because their coffee was too hot, I'm surprised that a person who got into an accident while driving hasn't sue the makers of the soup or chicken wings.

It's illegal to phone whilst driving here, there's quite a hefty fine too. I think it is dangerous, no matter how safe you think you drive. I have a hands free kit now, much safer and I can use both hands!!

hands frees are just as bad. it takes a lot to keep your attention when driving.. no matter how used to it you are. all those reactions going on at the same times..you have to be aware of everything around you. how can you possibly keep your attention when you're tlking as well?

in my opinion they should hand frees asap

But some people need to use their phone whilst driving for their job. You take your hand off the wheel to change gear, adjust the radio etc you only have to press one button to pick up or make a call on hands free its def better than a handheld.

Only because my sister tried calling me about 6 times in a row and the ringing was starting to become very annoying.

anyone think some of these loopholes are bollocks?! for anybody who watched richard and judy (!) the other night, you'd know what i mean. texting isn't illegal but surely that's more of a danger? you're allowed to press a button to answer a handsfree but if you pick up the phone to press that button, you're breaking the law! so we're going to have police lined up at the side of the road with telescopic sights to check people only press a button and not actually pick up the phone?!

your right, but it was even proven that the hands free's take away too much of your concentration so like...wtf can be done? i dont really have a problem with using mobile but ppl DO die form it and accidents DO happen...

lets face it its just another excuse to make the police more money for less work. it's no wonder this place is going to shit when they find it more useful to sit 3 cops in a meat wagon outside a station waiting to fine people (myself includied) for dropping people off in an unmarked disabled zone and hiding with speed guns to catch speeding than actually doing what they're supposed to.

yeah speeding is dangerous and all but i can imagine many more things they should be worrying about 1st.
