i will be honest i have been on a bit of a gin and wine kick lately.

i'm sure you won't be short of some smokeables either

tbh spending a week with my gf's dad and sister and putting up with their inherent bullshit in somewhere i've wanted to see pretty much all my life would drive me to commit criminal acts but i do intend to see new york at some point next year even if i'm myself.

I've been on a gin kick since last summer when Kev visited. It makes me feel better to blame him LOL. And smokeables - moi?

Personally I think a vacation with a significant other's sister and father sounds like the vacation from hell - but maybe that's what you're stuck with. New York is worth seeing at any time though.

gin soda water and lime is my drink of choice just now.

i do like it with fresh orange though and the odd cranberry juice but it dries you out too much.

i'm not necesarilly stuck with going with her sister and dad. it's more a case of the how much would i hate the trip to a how much agro would i get from the gf for not going with them all but going myself another date ratio.

just now the going myself is well in the lead.

There's a few good record stores left in the Village.

Yup - I was in a few on St Marks Place just two weekends ago. But - there used to be way more The internet is just not the same experience as poking around a pile of records or cds in hopes of finding something you might like.

Yup, have a great time Ryan.

NYC's my favourite city in the world, and I was only there 1 day too. We avoided the Empire State and the Statue (went past the statue on a boat trip though). Times Square was cool (never seen that many people hanging around close to midnight EVER), had lunch at the Hard Rock and wished I could've stolen Jon's guitar.

Gotta' say, I just walked A LOT.

Then I did spend a lovely 2 weeks in Jersey with some of my friends

That's why it's called "the city that never sleeps". A bunch of us went straight to the city after one of the Bon Jovi Giants shows last summer. The place was packed and everything was open - including good restaurants so that we got to eat something better than stadium food after the show

Gotta' say, I didn't expect it to be EXACTLY like the movies...lol. In Times Square there was even a guy in a white pimp suit with the cane and the drop top car....lol...all very surreal.

Whereabouts in NJ are you Kathleen?
