I think I heard that it is illegal to eat mince pies on Christmas day in the UK.

I also remember something along the lines of:

In Texas, if 2 trains are stopped at a crossing, neither can leave until the other has gone.

speaking of dumb laws.

the scottish parliament are thinking about allowing 24 hour licenses for pubs, clubs in off-licences to bring scotland more in line with the european licences.

they think this will stop binge drinking, lower violence and medical problems.

now i drink like a fish but i want whatever these guys have been smoking if they actually believe that it'll do all those things.

the UK and in Scotland in particular don't drink like europeans, we drink to get drunk and drink alot. letting people drinking longer is just stupid in Scotland and this is coming from me who's spilt more booze than alot of people have drunk.

Gotta disagree with you there Jim....I think that the longer hours would help. People wouldn't feel the need to neck 10 beers in 3 hours...which is why so many of us stagger home from the pub so damn hammered! You would be able to take your time. It may not change over-night, but I do think it would help in the long run.

Nice icon by the way...great minds think alike!
