Default Visiting Manhattan in May

So, I am going to be staying in Manhattan for a full week with three other friends. We are seeing Bon Jovi at MSG on the Wednesday - Thursday; a Broadway play (Book of Mormon) on Tuesday, and now have potential tickets to Steven Colbert on the Monday. We have so much more to do, and want to do even more.

A few months ago I asked about Australia, which led to some really great ideas - I even stayed at Phil's (Life of Agony on JT) house for a few days which was really cool! Hannah (the person I went to Australia with) and I will probably be lifelong friends with his family because of it. So I figured I'd post here and see if any of you have any reccomendations for Manhattan.

I hear that MOMA and the Met are things that could be multiple days, but I don't want to spend multiple days there- still going to visit them, however.

Are there any other places I need to go? Everything about New York is romantisized in film and music especially, and I want to experience that. I wanna drink good scotch at a jazz bar (any reccomendations there?), I want to experience the culture and just live in it for a week, filling up all 16 hours of my waking day with stuff. So please, any reccomendations would be welcome!

You’re only 25. I recommend making your waking day 18 hours to get more experience in. 😀

I guess they are still running: The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast are both fantastic musicals. Also, you really should take a day to venture into New Jersey. It’s a small state. You can cover a lot of ground in a day.

Not renting a car, plan on walking everywhere as we are staying right in the middle of Manhattan, just south of Central Park.

I'll check out those plays - I was looking at Alladin for a bit.

So glad you will be visiting. I’d definitely put visiting the Freedom Tower downtown on your list.
