for those who actually care and want to know.

copyright exists as soon as intelectual "property" ie an idea is thought up. if i get a song in my head just now but dont put it down in any form then i still have copyright to it but its not goign to stand up in court if someone nicks it.

the copyright on a photo will exist as soon as the idea for it comes along but again valerie only really has copyright on the ones shes took.

(c) whatever year it is merely shows the work is copyrighted and what year it was copyrighted, not much but it still sets out who came up with it 1st,
