America is the most selfish country in the world???? Please I'm tired of America supporting every third world backward ass country in the world, as well as defending them. America is so selfish that it even lets anyone who wants to come here for a good opportunity. Some come here just grab every benefit they can ,take total advantage of the system and not even work! Sounds like "Good Country" to me!

As far as the american media goes : I'm sure your country has the "REAL" story right? You can tell us all about it.

Sure we have fat people but we do like to take showers and brush our teeth daily!

You like to point out that we have the highest murder rates, I don't know the middle East does just fine. I can't turn on the T.V. without seeing a suicide bomber killing innocent people in Israel. Seems like all the middle east knows how to do is play with explosives. Pakistan and India have proven that they should not have weapons of destruction, they act like children constantly threatening each other. And let us come to Iraq who everyone seems to sympathize with. Saddam is such a nice guy. He kills and tortures his own people, decides one day he is going to take over Kuwait for fun, has an unknown cache of chemical weapons as well as missiles that he has had 10 years to hide. He's a great guy!! He's like one of the family!! Lets not forget his son rapes and tortures women too! Dad must be proud!! Sounds like Hitler all over again! But I guess this is just the american press feeding our heads again!

What about all the people who come here to make money to send back home so their families could have a somewhat decent life? Why do so many come here to work?

It's embarrassing how these people are tripping over themselves to try and justify Saddam. How quickly people forget what he did in the Gulf War. Maybe they were too young to remember, who knows? Still, it's fun to watch them sometimes.

And how is this different than any other post enticing people to slag America off? Why would a positive thread entice negative replies? Must be all that non-existent propaganda again. Just like you people can post as many negative threads about America as you want, I can post just as many positive. Can you explain why you people find it necessary to pick apart any positives, and only focus on negatives? Hmmm....

u r right at india & pakistan matter..it"s a shame that both contries aCT like a child...it"s unfair to have nuclear weapons for india & pakistan..but we never started to bomb..it was your contry in 2nd world war....your contry has right to do anything & we should not b having weapons???the biggest child i"ve seen is AMERICA...AMERICA is acting like a big bully.just like a little baby who is crying & crying for a TOY..bush is crying for oil..& it"s not 1st time....japan,vietnam,afghanistan & iraq.....

Maybe this will help. I am an American. I am 67inches(170cm) tall, 125pounds(56.8kg). I have dark brown curly hair and hazel eyes. I did recently highlight my hair so its a bit lighter than usual. I grew up in a small working class town in southwest Michigan, USA. I was raised Catholic. My dad is a retired police officer and my mom works part time as a book keeper. I have 1 older brother and 2 older sisters. My husband and friends come from similar backgrounds. I have a bachelor degree in clinical laboratory sciences and I am currently paying off 15-20 thousand American dollars in student loans. I work in a hospital in clinical research. There are alot of sick people in the world and I tell you everyday I am thankful for my health. I like to donate blood and also donate clothes and other items I no longer use to charity. I enjoy running, working out, being with family and friends. I love sports and sports bars. I can get pretty rowdy during college football or basketball season. We just bought our first home last year and have 2 cats, Shanny and Jovi. We are contemplating starting a family....

I don't follow a particular party in politics. I do vote because it is my right, but lately I find myself writing candidates in or voting 3rd party. I don't want to go to war and about 90% of the people I know and who are close to me do not want war either. I wish our government was more like Sweden's. This is just one American's opinion

Sorry to bore you with my life, but I am just trying to answer the question of what an American is.

Bush hates the French... the roots of America's prosperity is due to the fact that war has stimulated their economy in the 20th century, and initially due to the French blockading the English and what have ya...

I heard a good quote from Sir Patrick Moore in England about the war with Iraq, which went like this...

We should do the same thing to America that they did to us in WW2... give them a pat on the back and say good luck"

Here is my (stereotypical) view of an American.

An American is raised as a Bible worshipping, God loving Christian. If they are male then they take their fathers name, followed by the word 'junior'. As they approach their teen years they will inevitably have to wear a brace. They don't want their teeth crooked like the British.

Their parents will work hard to ensure the American has enough money to be covered medically, and in order to ensure the child gets an 'education'. Throughout school, they will fail to receive any Geography lessons. They won't be able to tell their Austria's from thier Australia's and they even think that Arkansas sounds like Kansas. What the school excels in however is in teaching that America is the free-est country in the world and that everyone aginst it is a freedom hater. The American leaves school feeling very patriotic and loving God even more.

Throughout the American's life he/she will probably never go abroad, and if he/she does it will be to the Canadian side of Niagara Falls, or to El Paso.

The American will eventually get a job working in an office, and buy a car that consumes lots of gas. On the radio antenna of the car their will be an American flag; their will also be one stuck to the back near the registration plate or in the back window. He/She will go to church every sunday, get their 'news' from CNN and will probably be overweight.

They will eventually get married and buy a house. On the front of the house there will be an American flag. If there is ever a national tragedy the flag shall be flown at half mast. If they wish to replace the flag then they must follow the 'flag protocol'. They will have children and thus start a whole new cycle of the same thing.
