Spiders--which is a pretty unrealistic phobia. I can squash the sucker before it hurts me, right?

I guess the same thing could happen to me too.

And I'm always afraid when walking alone that someone's going to attack me Not of course in the middle of the town in the middle of the day but in bigger cities when it's dark.
Yeah - this scares me - mainly 'cos its happened... but when I see a gang of youths walking towards me when I'm on my own - I tend to turn & walk the other way.

Apart from that - not much I don't think apart from heights a bit .
as for the violence all i can say are 2 slogans (applicable at night time only)

1) welcome to wolverhampton
2) welcome to manchester

Any of you seen the movie "8 Legged Freaks"? I guess it's not really one for those of you arachnaphobes though, lol.

I used to have nightmares from that movie... after watching it at primary / elementary (?) school, at the age of 10 or so anyway. Completely irresponsible to show such movies to a class with 10-year old kids . Good thing that it always stayed with those nightmares, never developed an arachnaphobia in real life .

I don't mind the little spiders; anything up to about an inch, but any bigger and I get really paranoid. I don't think I would mind having a pet tarantula (sp), but I just think that they're gonna get on me when I am asleep, and crawl up my nose or something.

One night, about 2 years ago, I was lay in bed reading, about 12pm, and I heard this 'tap, tap, tap'. I looked up to see this massive spider about a meter above me on the wall. It was so big that I actually HEARD it moving. Its legs must have been about an inch long each, and I was so paranoid that I swapped my pillows to the other end of my bed for the night, and switched around the furniture the next day.

I managed to give it a good whack, but never found its body. I haven't seen any in my room since, lol.

Seems like one way or another most people are scared/hate spiders...
