I lean towards no, but since I've never been to one myself, I'm still openminded.
I did see a show on NBC (I think) just a week or so ago that was disclosing the *secrets* of psychics and that pushed me a bit further toward the disbelieving side.
Things like how they bend spoons, break glasses and read minds.
The spoon is already in 2 pieces when he picks it up and then he moves his thumb in such a way that it looks like it's bending, and then he *breaks* it in half.
The glass breaking *trick* is done with a spring under the table that is released so quickly no one in the audience can see it.
Reading minds - the example was that the psychic gives an audience member a small board and tells him to draw 3 shapes on it. Then the psychic guesses what the three shapes are. However... unbeknownst to the audience there's a guy behind the audience member who did the drawing with a microphone and he whispers the shapes to the psychic who has a small earpiece in his ear.
They also had 4 or 5 people go to psychics (I can't remember if it was the same psychic or not) with hidden cameras. And each time the psychic told them basically the same things - off a script!
The show was an hour long, but I only watched for about 10 or 15 minutes, so I presume even more secrets were disclosed.
Now on the other hand... I've seen psychics on Larry King Live on CNN where people call in and the psychic claims to get messages from their dead relatives. And 2 of them have been very convincing. So, I'm sceptical, but openminded.
