What is it with women? I'm just venting, but really??

I just had a fight with my special female friend (SFF)
Why do I use that term?? because I don't have a girlfriend and I don't want a girfriend I just want somebody I can care about and somebody who cares for me, do have mutual consentual sex and don't feel tied down because of it.
Well on my birthday(which was a week ago) I met a beautifull girlamed Karen, so I'm talking to her and we hit it off almost instantly, it turns out we both were a bit drunk that night and we liked each other so I rented a motel room and we stayed the night. You can probably guess what happened there right??
It's only been a week from there and now we had a fight because she waants to formalize this, have a "real relationship", Why?
Things were going fine, extremely well to be honest. Why **** with it??
I really don't get it, am I being to selfish??
And the **** do you start a serious relationship with someone you've only known for one week??

I don't get it --- isn't that how all/most relationships start out? With not knowing each other?

not exactly, not an actual ring but she is asking for a serious relationshi meaning exclusively just me for her. And being that my previous experiences have seen me always end up badly I just don't want that right now, I just want well let's say a friendship with benefits, and if it unfolds from there then so be it.

but you see there are very few people that can comfortably have a casual relationship. Most people will eventually get their feelings involved - entirely involuntary - so you might end up getting hurt after all. If she just isn't the type to have a friendship with benefits with (and honestly you'll find much fewer women to do this than men) then you cannot hold that against her.

At least she is honest and upfront about it and doesn't 'pretend' it is all ok, only for you to find a bunny in your stove top boiler one day (and if you've haven't seen Basic Instinct, rent it NOW).

But don't get me wrong, I completely understand where you are coming from and in no way am I suggesting you should do something or commit to something you don't want.

Since you have titled this "What is it with women", I have to ask you this: "why do you think a girl should be in a casual relationship with you or anybody else for that matter? Why do you think she should waste her time with someone who isn't compeletly and totally ready to not see other women and will give it his best shot?"

I'm not saying she should hold out to me or anything or wait me out but if she wants to be with me then that's the only way i'd do it, I do feel bad though, I had a great time with her and everytime I'm with her I'm smiling all the way home after the night is over, we ended sleeping together the night we met, that's not a normal thing for me, and I don't know if I could commit to her with that in mind either.I'm just really confused right now I like her I really do but I'm not a good boyfriend I think.
