Honestly, a great deal of the Indian population come here to make a nice living for themselves. The gov.'t gives them HUGE tax breaks. I think they are exempt from paying taxes for a few years which makes it quite easy for them to earn a very nice living for themselves. They can afford larger houses than me due to all of these benefits.

AllMike I can't help but laugh a bit at your question because the majority of India must find something fascinating about America being that they have just about taken over a few areas of Jersey. I bet we have more Indian stores around here than in India! LOL

well in all seriousness its all about the 'american dream'...i dont really buy into all that, id prefer to live in calgary, which is where im going in under 2 yrs' time

nah i love the humidity.. either tho i was sweating there alot, cos i wasnt used to it but yeah those bugs are annoying, but they dont cause much of a problem...im checking out calagry in the summer, to see if its worth living before i move there the year later, so im hoping that cool climate iwll do me good...either tho not sure if the missus will like it

the thing is mouse, indians for the most part have a great work ethic and work hard to get where they are.

add to that the fact that its pretty much amazing how much u have to go thru to get to america even if ur from a friendly state then it's alot harder for people to get into ur country.

the way amertica goes about alot of things is great and asylum. immigration is one of them.

I have no idea what you are referring to, but they are certainly NOT exempt from paying taxes. You must be referring to some type of treaty provision to alleviate double taxation, but the US doesn't let anyone get away with not paying taxes easily.

As someone who chooses to live in the US and not in Germany where I grew up and whose citizen I am of, I can state a whole number of reasons why the US are great. That doesn't necessarily mean that other countries are NOT, but that wasn't the question.

The American Dream certainly would sum it up nicely and I can assure you it is alive and well. I would have never achieved what I did in the US if I stayed in Germany. That is a fact even though Germans don't like to hear it. :P

Not everything is great in Florida. Bugs for one. And those damn snowbirds!! They are mean! And they can't drive. You get used to the humidity. Although I probably use a lot more hairspray than I would have to without the humidity. Oh, and the president's brother is our Governor. Then there was that whole voting fiasco. But, it was 60 degrees here today versus freezing temps up North. So I guess we gotta take the good with the bad.
