Ashlee Simpson claimed a chronic gastric disorder was the cause of her lip-synching miscue on "Saturday Night Live" this past weekend. The singer said that acid reflux disease caused her to lose her voice and rely on a backing tape for her performance.

what's the huge problem with her lip syncing?

I've done it before as have many folk including bon jovi. it just makes life a whole lot simpler when you're doing TV

She sang live last night at some awards show. She tried to make a joke out of the entire Sat. incident by starting commenting how her band was playing the wrong song again. Anyway, she sounded really bad. This is coming from someone who actually owns and likes her album. They are totally ripping her apart in the media now.

hehehe yep and I am loving it

Howard Stern played two clips this morning in which she blamed acid reflux for the disaster. LOL.

(Oh and again they said Madonna does NOT sing live - Elton John supposedly being the one pointing that out in the first place)

and Jim, maybe not much wrong with it as it is done in certain circumstances regularly. However, she was the one who said how she despises lip syncers and how she would NEVER do that and how she wants to show everyone her REAL talent (LOL) etc..... That is what makes it so hilarious.....

Some shows just don't have the facilities for artists/bands to perform live. TOTP for instance, hardly anyone ever performs live, although that is due to lack of any musical ability more than anything else. I think if an artist is truly adamant that they don't want to mime then I think they shouldn't have to. I don't see why a TV studio can't get a setup for recording music live.

I watched her last night on the Radio Music Awards. She sounded horrible. But, in her defense, she did not lip sync. LOL.

ah well if shes been self righteous about it before then **** her. don't let a moron like a drummer in charge of setting off the tracks.

snl does indeed have the facilities for folk to play live neil n people do regularly.

as does top of the pops. they used to have a period where they wouldn't let you on unless it was live.
