GDL Driver Examination Permit Validation

Pass a vision test.
Pass knowledge test or present high school knowledge test waiver and have your permit validated.
Schedule a road test in 6 months if you are under 21 years or 3 months if you are 21 years of age or older at the time of validation.
Once your permit is validated, you may operate a registered motor vehicle according to the conditions of the GDL Program.
Your identification must be presented throughout the testing process.


That is the first step in getting your permit. Then you have to drive for six months before you can take the road test in order to get your license. Of course only with an adult present, but I don't recall having to log your hours or anything. Each state is different though.

ah so thats just like getting your provisional. you still cant drve yourself.

i was getting a bit worried there thinking you guys let people on the road after 6 hours worth of driving.

i was just readin git thinking: he just admitted not looking on 2 junctions and they let him on the road

Yep, that's what I thought yesterday! I failed and even I looked at junctions and stuff :P

bad luck. my sis has failed 4 tests so far

it's really down to confidence. if you feel and think that you;re able and competent enough to be on the road then you'll be a better driver.
