well if you're talking about the late 1960s/70s then Britain where we get people like Ritchie Blackmore, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, John Bonham, Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Paul Jones, Eric Burdon, Ray Davies

so in that sense Britain gave us the best men then...

then of course we have some more of your Boston, Van Halen, Aerosmith bands coming from over the seas leading into the Bon Jovi sort of scene... so America did a good job in the late 70s/80s

but let's not forget the occasional Scorpions... Germany or MSG, UFO Euro/British-American bands

and since the 90s absolutely nothing has been good except people such as Paul Gilbert, Steve Vai etc who were all rooted in the 80s anyway...

Well I have to go with the USA, because without the US there would be no Jon, Richie or Tico!
