With the new pope, I completely forgot about the Champions League.

Bayern lost 0-2 at home. Were they that bad?

they weren't that bad but one could tell that their 2 key players were missing: Schweinsteiger and Ribery.

I think that overall, they were just terribly unlucky. Arsenal had 3 chances and scored 2 goals. Bayern looked all throughout more dangerous but somehow, also seemed very nervous and agitated. I couldn't sense the composure they displayed in every other game of the season. Also, Javi Martinez made the worst game since he joined Bayern. Clearly, he was missing Schweinsteiger in defensive midfield..

With this performance they can't win the Champions League. But I am happy it happened and they still went through. Will serve as a wake-up call which is what you need at this stage.

There is a word to describe Bayern's attitude tonight but I really can't think of it. 'Been searching my brain for five minutes but can't get it.

Just got back from the Chelsea - Bucharest game. Had press access tickets, was on the pitch with Mata and the Chelski boys. Was quite exciting. Got a couple of texts from friends saying they could see me on TV Such a buzz. Had access to the press conference too but couldn't be bothered…

Anyway, Europa League is such a bad competition. Pity for that trophy which is in my opinion the greatest trophy in football.

Ah good for you, man. Hope you had a good time!

I am ecstatic. I believe Newcastle are the weakest team still in the Europa League but I am going to enjoy this as long as it lasts...!

Bayern just wanted to sit back on their lead and cruise through. It was a negative tactic but it just about worked.

The only people that lost out were football fans but football is becoming less and less about entertainment and more about the result.

Right…what are your thoughts on the quarter finals?
I'm happy they didn't draw any of the big favourites together but there will be some interesting matches nonetheless.

Madrid and Dortmund should actually book their tickets for the semi-finals. I think it will be difficult for Galatasaray and Malaga. The other two games are a bit more even.

PSG vs. Barcelona will be very interesting. PSG is very strong. The first leg against Valencia was one of the strongest performances I have seen all CL season. Unfortunately for them, they will be missing Zlatan in the first game which is a big blow!

Juventus vs. Bayern is the most interesting tie. Bayern will have to up their game compared to what they did with Arsenal, to see this one through. On a normal day, they should be able to beat Juve, but who knows. Even so…very excited. This is football at the very very highest level.

And someone tell me I don't know much about football....
