I think the applicable lesson here is don't trust anybody in authority.

Before the war, the democrats, like was shown here, signed on to what they thought was a winning cause. Now that support has kind of bottomed out, they're highly critical. At least the republicans have the guts to "stay the course."

But isn't it kind of odd that Saddam didn't allow the inspectors to come into Iraq right from the start. Then once he gives the okay, nothing was found.

Because he wanted the sanctions removed.
