Aloha !

gillan - still great voice, but fat, grey, and can't quite get the VERY high notes
As a result of living the "rock-way".

Quote:
JBJ - enough said
His hair is getting longer again, so that'll probably mean that he'll start to rock more ?

Quote:
Schenker - drunk, alcoholic, who is so in debt he's been chucked out of UFO and has to sell his guitar
As a result of the stress of rock.

Quote:
Van Halen - has done nothing since 1998 - many of his fans disillusioned with him and the band
Because he was an egotripper in that band. The rest of the band didn't take it anymore, and that was the end of Van Halen. The reason that he cut his hair wasn't the reason for their breakup.

Quote:
Page - very little since 98 other than a short Black Crowes flirtation
dickinson - still has the voice, but now a Christian appearing on UK morning tv talking about how he loves God, and his favourite hymns
Appearantly he has had enough of rock.

Quote:
Blackmore - left deep purple and rainbow (2 of greatest rock bands ever - certainly 2 of most influential also) to play medieval porn music with his wife at the bottom of his garden with the fairies
For him that sort of rock probably wasn't a challenge for him anymore.

Quote:
anyway, peopke that say only long haired people that rock are rockers are just trying to be trendy
When you constantly say you are a rocker because you have long hair you are a wannabe rocker.

however, wonder how many times they have said "ergh, look at them trendy gimps over there"
You don't say to a bald man that he likes hard house. He might like it, but I once shaved my hair away because I wanted to, not because I didn't want to be a rocker anymore, neither to be someone who likes hardhouse...Anyone remembers Gabbers ? But letitrock and Mike McRock probably reply like I am not a real rocker or something.

ps - re: hair - if baldness is hereditary - thank God my Dad's doing ok!

it doesn't affect the music at all BUT - people with long hair tend to have a different approach to life and music, and certainly this can be seen between different BJ albums

even if I do go bald - we are talking a good 30-40+ years away and until then I can enjoy myself

I may only have these student years where i can be as I am, and so I'm going to take them while I can

Maybe they rock harder when they have long hair, but it's not the main reason. The main reason is that they get older, ánd then cut their hair. So I still think the length of your hair has got nothing to do with the fact if you rock more.

Boldness is hereditary, but now because of so much polution and bad eating habit tend to premature boldness. I was lossing hair coz of Thryroid Desorder. Now i'm doing fine. But my point is Boldness is no longer midle age thing, now it is become so comman with young stars.

Yeah u enjoy ur music and hair till it last.

Here's my take on this. Maybe in the 70's and 80's it was cool to have long hair and be a rocker. In the 90's the rock stars cut their hair, but they still rocked and still considered themselves rockers. Now were in the 2000's and there are a whole new slew of short haired rockers coming up. Roger Daltry cut his hair, as did Jon, Richie and a whole load of others, but they still rock as much today as they did then, even more so!

So, the answer has to be no, you don't need long hair to rock.

Default baldness is hereditary

but only from the mothers side of the family, so letit pop- if your mums dad is bald, you will go bald.

As for Bruce Dickinson, he runs a weekly internet radio rock shpw on the bbc, as well as being a commercial pilot who flys planes out of Heathrow Airport each day.
