Sorry for going on but I am embarrssed to be British sometimes!!
don't worry. here everything stops to work properly everytime we have a strong rain. but now that the weather is ****ed up and it rains very often during winter we have started to get used to it and the government does the things that they should have done years ago...

No of course not but how would we cope if we had this kind of weather from May to September, as many other countries do?? To me its just another excuse for our crap public transport system and then they wonder why no-one will use it!!

Apparently they put the ballast in the wrong place on a number of tracks(the stuff that insulates them).

I think public transport is a problem in a lot of countries. The public transport isn't as good here as it used to be, but it still runs in all kinds of weather.. which is a plus!! It's the motorways which go into a frenzy. When it rains everyone loses their ability to drive faster than 50 kmh and when it snows it's even worse! 2 years ago when it snowed (it has snowed since, but this was quite heavy snow) there were 975 km of tailbacks!! Now that's just stupid!!
