I saw the Opening Ceremony the bit which your on about, and you are wrong saying "the queen couldnt even come down to get the flalme off Kirsty" Your saying that the Queen and possibly anyone in the Royal family thinks of themselves as some high and mighty person, you are totally wrong!
But why not there? What is the reason that she left that girl there, without making any sort of contact, or showing anything towards her. I'm sorry, but everybody who's seen that little girl feels something, and 'everybody' she meets seems to be affected by her, why not the queen?

As for not thinking they are better than everybody else, why have rules that say they can't go down to great somebody, why have rules that say you have to bow before the queen. The whole idea of a monach is that they are your betters, they're higher up than you, and you have to bow for them. It's about class, and the idea that somebody can be born better than somebody else. This is what offends me in the Royal Family, and this is the reason I don't want them to continue. It's bad enough that we still have inherited places in the House of Lords, but the idea of the monach is outdated, and doesn't have a place in society nowerdays.

Plus, our national anthem is a joke. I dont' really like the American one, but it's about the country, it's about partiotism, wich is what a na should be about. Our's is singing for the glory of one person.... please! our na isn't patriotic at all![/i]

its simple

the Queen is the head of state

a figurehead

its got balls all to do with tourism etc. One of the things that makes Britain/Uk/ whatever the fook you want to call it is the Monarchy.

I think people that live in places without a royal family really dont understand the whole principle, what the queen/king means

Well, it fits right in since we are a patriotic country. While most of you think of "patriotism" as a dirty word, in America we are proud of it. To each his own.

Now back to the Queen, what exactly does she do?!?! Can anyone explain it? Is she just a "figurehead" as someone suggested? When she steps down/dies, Charles will take her place as King. What is the purpose of the Monarchy? No one has given a clear answer.

nothing against patriots,

but because America is still a relatively new country some people just get too carried away. Like the retards that hide in the mountains saluting the flag every time they see one

That's called RESPECT for the flag. That hardly makes them "retards". So what if the United States is a "new" country? Just because we've only been around 200 years we shouldn't feel patriotic? Why not? This is the only country I've ever lived in, therefore I'm loyal. Your whole argument regarding "patriotism" and the fact that the US is a "new" country is BS. Don't you think that people think that a Queen is outdated, especially when she doesn't "rule" your country?

Waving to you from Kensington Palace? Or how about Balmoral? Why is your national anthem an ode to one person? "God Save the Queen"? What happens when she dies? Does it get changed to "God Save the King" when Charles takes her place?

hmm you havent quite seen my point

At the moment America is very patriotic, thats natural for a "new" country, Britain passed that patriotic fever pitch a long time ago

and you think those Nazi gimps in the mountains arent retards? bah

biggest bunch of retards on the planet

and just so you know, I have to salute the flag, and in theory even a picture of the Queen
