I always wondered about this too. I know the official name for Rubgy (League at least) is Rugby League Football and they don't use their feet a lot.

Lets think of a better name for American Football. Perhaps "Pathetic Rugby with crap rules"

They don't hit the ball with their feet but they run with them.
so it's not true at all when you say they don't use their foot at all.
Plus football is way better than soccer.

Well by that logic golfers use their feet to walk, so that could be football. There are many sports in which people use balls and walk, thus it could be football.

The idea of the name football means you use your feet to move the ball, hence we have real football which Americans call Soccer.

They often kick the balls too, so, yes, they do use feet to move the ball and kicking is used for extra points after touchdowns.

Also the term touchdown is stupid, they only have to run over the line with the ball don't they? Not even having to touch it down.

I don't think it makes much sense calling American football, "football". Yeah, you kick the ball... sometimes. But they don't use the name "football" for a game where you use your feet pretty much all of the time? As I've said before, I'm embarassed to be an American.
