Actually they should touch the ball down, nowadays it's just accepted if you could've touched the ground. You don't have to cross the line, the ball has to. If you reach out and hit the ball to the ground over the line it's a touchdown.

They are there if you look hard enough. Trust me. Anytime someone brings up anything to do with American football it ALWAYS goes back to the name.

its all part of the game, the funny outfits are protective gear to stop them getting injured, but unfortunately they still do. At elast they have a littel more sense than the rugby players who dont even attempt to protect themselves.
