Winamp 3 was totally different and basically it sucked so they put the good parts of it together with the Winamp 2 engine and created Winamp 5.

I dunno why you all don't like it I love to use it with the mmd3 skin, it's small, it's easy to use and it always suits my desktop. But it doesn't wrok that easy anymore with winamp5. It works but e.g. if I wanna jump to another playlist I don't wanna open an extra window for it. That's too much work (sorry but I usually work with short keys for programs that run in the background)
