winning the war on terror: a different approach?

Can't honestly see it working with the people that want to kill us currently. The rulers are gonna hold down the people whatever they think, the "terrorists" think they're doing God's work and besides, many of them have been hurt by American policies. And the Average Joe of Iraq or Afghanistan is just going to go about his business whatever we say. We should've considered the possible repercussions of our actions when we started screwing with other countries' affairs.
