Women are grumpier than men

Women are grumpier than men in the morning, a survey has found.

The report, which confirms what many men have long believed, adds insult to injury by saying women also stay in a bad mood for longer.

The survey by The Sleep Council, which aims to raise awareness of the importance of good sleep, found 24 per cent of men say they never wake up grumpy, as opposed to only 14 per cent of women.

It also found that 13 per cent of women stayed in a bad mood for two to four hours, compared to 10 per cent of men.

The survey, published ahead of National Sleep In Day on October 29 - the day the clocks go back and Britons get an extra hour in bed - revealed 41 of respondents believe lack of sleep is the main reason for being cranky in the morning.

The Sleep Council's Jessica Alexander said women's grumpiness could perhaps be explained by the quality of sleep they were getting.

"As men appear to sleep better than women, perhaps it's not surprising that more women than men get out of bed on the wrong side," she said.

"It also tends to be them that prepares the breakfast, spends time with the children, check their emails and attend to their beauty regime.

"Women far outweigh men in having a busy and packed morning."

It also tends to be women who get up during the night with a crying baby or young child in addition to all of the above and still have to get the kids out of the house and herself to work on time in the morning. Of course they are grumpy. I think a better way to put it is that women are simply tired LOL.

Oh yeah - that'll help everyone's mood in the morning Grrr.....

Too bad you couldn't have designed us not to need sleep at all. Imagine all the additional work you could have gotten out of us if we didn't need sleep. And, in that case, we wouldn't be grumpy in the morning either.

I don't remmeber getting up with bad mood.. i just get up always with sleepy mood lol... When ever I'm upset.. it usualy last few mins.. never too long....

I'm never grumpy in the morning unless you ****ING DARE TALK TO ME BEFORE I HAD COFFEE DO YOU HEAR?!

I would have actually thought the opposite of what that survey says.

Regardless what the survey says I do think it's MEN that are grumpier I do agree that at least in my case bad moods do last longer than they should, though.

And I wouldn't be in a bad mood if I didn't have to put up with stupid questions, such as 'hon, do you know where my keys are?'.

Yeah - I invited aliens to the house just to spirit away your briefcase - just to piss you off.

Actually - if you kept better track of your things you would know where YOUR things are in the mornings. It's not my day to watch them.
