yeh been there this summer - it's a crazy place & I wouldn't want to be there for too long (mainly because of the weather in summer - 45deg no exeption), but it's fun. It's one of those places you just have to see for yourself once in your life .

To do's in Vegas? Just check out all the casino's / hotels; walk around... It's one big theme park really and there's lots to see.. The New York, New York rollercoaster is fun (expensive though), Bellagio's fountain show, The Venetian,... Maybe go to one of the musicals / shows (prices are a bit steep, but it's worth it); I went to We Will Rock You (the Queen musical) in Paris Hotel / Casino - if it's still showing while you're there... check it out!

I'd recommend going out of Vegas for a bit too - the area has a lot to off as well; Hoover Dam, maybe Grand Canyon (which is quite a long way still), Colorado River,... Should be nice in winter too btw at least the temps won't be that bad as when I was there .

get married, form a gambling addiction and go to a strip club seem to be the expected touristy things to do.

I booked up for a booze cruise to loret de mar in january on friday. not exactly as exotic as las vegas and my sister reckons Ill hate it because of the folk there but as long as the drink keeps flowing and the women aare easy I'm sure I'll manage

The Grand Canyon isnt too far! and it is 100% absolutely definitely worth the trip! You're so near to it, it would be criminal not go see it/fly over it/camp in it etc

You wont be short of things to do and see in Vegas, you'll have a blast!

ps the clown sounds scary lol but maybe thats just me!

My neighbours went to the Grand canyon and they said it was totaly amazing and that everyone should see it,so you've got to see it while you are there. Plus he said you got to have a mixed grill!!!

I'm sure you'll have a great time. I've never been but everyone I know who has been there has had a blast. I've never heard a bad thing about Vegas. And don't forget the saying we have..."What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas..." Have fun!

Oh yeah, and don't worry about the heat. It definitely won't be that hot in January. It might actually be a bit cold.

Vegas is just Vegas, go and see and judge for yourself, you'll have a blast that's for sure
I stayed at the Excalibur and the Luxor hotel, they're worth a look, but don't lose your money by doing too much gambling, a little bit is nice to get the Vegas feeling though
If there's any possibility to go to the Grand Canyon, GO THERE!! And take a helicopter flight, it's expensive but an experience of a lifetime

I'm so excited I might just burst!

Jim - Excellent advice all round, except the marriage bit, Im going with my twin brother you sick b*****d!

The Grand Canyon is a place I have wanted to visit all my life, so we're going to take a helicopter trip there!

My theory is that Im going to lose all my money gambling so dont plan to do too much of that - probably be as much fun watching other people lose all their money (Sadistic? Moi?)
