Default wooo apparently the UK is getting thinner

i dunno exactly how they've worked this out but apparently nutrionists/ scientist/ health experts have clocked that the trend of people in the UK getting overweight and obese is slowing to the point where we'll start getting thinner next year.

good news unless they're saying this because they're banking on everyone sticking to their new year gym members ships and resolution diets

Perhaps not all that surprising, what with McDonalds and Burger King getting healthier menus (and smaller burgers!), and Jamie Oliver's vigilante crusade

Last sunday i was at a tournament of basket ball (both of my kids were playing).

And there was this team from another town of 5 + a few more extra players and there were 5 kids really fat ! that was sad. They are from 6 years old to 8 i guess .... That's so sad at this age when you think it's the parents' fault most of the time.

i think that this is mostly influenced by thin stars on TV, not so much on the macdonalds and burger king thing because the people who go these places are really fat therefore they would rather eat a 1/4 pounder than a salad

I think Mc Do's and others really made an effort to propose "light" food. And it is really lighter.
But you're right too, tv (singer, actress etc ...) have an impact on teenage for example.
I think recently, the latest years, this problem was more discussed everywhere and parents are more aware about all this ....

From the title of this thread I thought this was going to be about rising sea levels due to global warming

But then Jim wouldn't post about that.
