Kev if you have any sense i'd stay away from court and seeking 'loss of earnings' and such benafits. Basically it's your own stupid fault for not conducting safe work in practise and agreeing to work under those conditions breaking most health and saftey laws the UK has.

I 100% fully understand why you had to carry the box over your head, I understand why the stock room was full, I understand how a full stock room looks and how dangerous it is. Problem is, you carried the box over your head like a twat, its im-proper work in practise and the company could, in theory, take action against you for damages to stock and furnature and such.

I'd leave it how it is, take sick-pay if your being offerd it and just keep your mouth shut. No the stockroom shouldnt be piled up like that but in getting stuck in there, lifting boxes and such you are agreeing to the health and saftey standard they have set as a company.

Every morning in every buisness containing the general public as purchasing customers there has to be a H&S form filled out, set by the insurance peeps usually. If there are no grips on the ladders and that is noted on the H&S form, and some silly northen willy goes climbing that ladder to fall off he can't then take action against the company.

I didnt read the entire thread as i would only fall asleep in trying to do so so if i just repeated what anyone else said im sorry.

Anyway, you broke your toe, not your neck, I know people who got worse injuries in a rugby came and still carried on through the second half. Stop your moaning and take it like the girl that you are.
