For one thing, being Jewish has always made me fell like a fish out of water this time of year. And everyone keeps asking me, "Do you get extra presents?" It's the most annoying question I get besides "Did you know your eyes are two different colors?" And then there was this one girl who went on and on about who I shared a birthday with and how great it was. She felt kind of funny when I told her I was Jewish.
Okay, just one more stupid question... sorry!! I'm assuming you don't do presents at Christmas?? Do you get birthday presents though?? Sorry about the questions, I'm afraid I don't know that much about Judaism...

Yeah, I get birthday presents. And Tash, don't worry about if you think your questions are stupid or not. I understand that many people don't know much about Judaism since we're less than 1% of the world's population. Basically, Judaism is a lot like Christianity only without the New Testament.

Well, that's good to know. I'm sure more questions will pop into my head!! Do you not celebrate anything about Christmas? I know you don't believe that Christ was the Messiah (right?) but do you have a Christmas tree and such??

Right. I'm embarassed to say this, but I'm not sure what Jews consider him to be. I think a prophet, but I'm not certain.

I never did, but my mom did for reasons of cultural assimilation. But it was the 50s when American Jews put more emphasis on the American part and less on the Jewish part. Nowadays, some less religious Jews put up trees and decorations because "everybody else" is doing it.
