XBox360 or PS3?

With the delay in release of the psp untill freakin' march should I just go for the XBox 360, or be more patient?
Which do you think is better? And more importantly wich one is gonna have the most best games eventually?

I haven't really been into games for a while now but I have a friend who is and he told me that the PS3 chipset costs so much that they will initially selling the machines at a loss (presumably it is the development costs that caused it) which sounds ridiculous. I did see an HD video trailer for the new Metal Gear game and thought it looked very good. I have a PS2 but haven't really used it a lot lately, only have about a dozen games for it, but it does look like games are getting much better, albeit quite slowly.

Which is cheaper?
