UKJovi, could have a Mitchell brothers Luton accent?

So what do you sound like?

My voice is quite low toned, Ive been told Ive got a sexy voice and a nice tinkling laugh, whatever that means ! Mainly have an english accent, a mixture a little from up north(Ive never noticed it though), and other down south where I used to live . I do have a slight american twang left , cant say certains words in an english accent like world or squirrel. I always say pants instead of trouser, so stuff like this gives my US background away. I havent noticed that I sound like anyone famous.

Where in the US Dawn??

As for me, I don't sound anything like the Soprano's either. Some people say I sound like I am from California (although I never been there), others hear a bit of NY and my students this year asked me if I was English. I think the NY only comes out when I am angry.
A lot of people think that NJ accent sounds very English, I can see why except for the Italian Jersians they are much more stronger sounding, like the mafia

My dad is from Indiana , but he also sounds a soft texan to me, we lived in TX for 2 yrs (which I hated) and Tenn for a year(which I liked).

I need to be in UK for another 3 yrs then will think about heading to the US east coast. NJ/NY Maine ??????? Undecided yet.

Dawn.
Tenn is nice! I visited there last year and loved it.

Don't come to NJ/NY. It is way overcrowded and overpriced these days, unless you go to upstate NY. It is still nice there.

You will have to stop by and visit when you come over here. I will take you on a Bon Jovi tour!!

Woo Hoo my own personal BJ NJ tour guide

I know the prices in NJ have really shot up in the past year . Do you know why? I thought maybe people where moving from NY to NJ to feel safer? Up state is a lot cheaper, but I reckon they have more snow!.

Yes, quite a few have moved out of NY since 9/11. You see, all of the people from Brooklyn, NY are moving to Staten Island. All of the native Staten Island people are moving to Jersey. It is a chain. LOL Where I just moved, my neighbors on both sides of me are from NY.

I think a lot of people move here b/c of the easy access to where they work. There is a lot of business in North Jersey and it is so easy to get to the city from here. I moved from Central to South Central Jersey and it is a little better. If you want a country type setting, you can go all the way south in NJ. It is still very nice and not as expensive b/c there is not a lot of big business there yet.

To make it worse, well better for me, they just put stop on building new homes in my town. That will drive the prices here up more. I am happy about it because I would hate to see this place turn into Staten Island. There is not a bit of land left over there.

Better stop using them quote boxes, it jams up Peters site

That makes sense what you have just explained about people moving around NY/NJ. I reckon if they caught Bin Laden the panic moving might slow down a little.

I really would like to be on the coast(as I am now) and most properties are expensive to start with there. Ive been looking at Monmouth to Ocean County, Jersey shore so far, might have to go further down or live a bit inland.

Depends where the jobs are, my daughter really wants to teach when she finishes college.

I know what you mean Jim , its just some people cant handle the constant reminder of living near the horror that happened. So you have to take that into account. Its hard to judge when you havent lived through something like that. Also some people want to protect their kids, and by moving is how they think they can acheive this.

I moved from Middlesex to Monmouth and love it. Ocean County is even better!! I am sure there will be plenty of teaching jobs in Monmouth being the population is growing so much around here.

As for people moving, I don't think it is as much b/c of the terrorist attacks as you think. Prices in Manhatten and Staten Island are through the roof and people are realizing that they can move to Jersey and actually have a yard!!! It is getting to be way overcrowded in the NY areas and people are getting sick of it.

I didnt know you were in Monmouth and you have a teaching job there

It just seemed strange as I used to property search NJ pre 9/11 and post 9/11 with 6mths most of the NJ properties had been snapped up and then the prices started rising. So I guess I just put 2 + 2 together and figured that was the main reason for the NJ moving onslaught.

Can I ask why you moved from Middlesex ? Was it the area you didnt like ?

Hows the squirrel?

Actually, I teach in Middlesex County still. It only takes me about 1/2 hour to get there. I really like my school, so I don't mind.

Monmouth is more green... LOL Middlesex is very crowded and there is a TON of traffic. Now don't get me wrong, Monmouth isn't like it used to be either, but it isn't as overcrowded. Actually, the town I live in, Manalapan, was just voted the second best place to live on the East Coast in Money Magazine this month.

Don't get me wrong, I am sure 9/11 had a lot to do with it, but I also think the economy played a role too.

The squirrels are gone, for right now. We had the hole fixed, so I am hoping there are none stuck up in my attic trying to get out!!
