Less then a week now, and I'm seriously getting stoked. Especially since the band has been *slightly* tweaking the sets, as far as older stuff goes.

Green day has defenetly improved since the American idiot tour.... They averaged around 20 songs then.... Around 2 hours... Looks like you got a solid 3 hours... Maybe more, especially how they extend half there songs to like 10 min.... I guess that's why you didn't get hitchin a ride.... Live it's usually 11-12 min.

Last night was my third time seeing Green Day, and it finally answered a question I'd had since the first time I saw them. I loved both the other gigs, but they were both hard to judge. The band was amazing at Giants Stadium in 2005, but that was the first times I saw them, and since they have changed my life, it was hard for me to be objective. The show earlier this year at Webster Hall was one of the most amazing shows I've ever been to (still owe you biff), but that was a album-release club show in front of only like 1,000 people. Then came last night, and the confirmation that Green Day is tied with Bruce and E Street as the GREATEST live act I've ever seen.

-Song of The Century
1. 21st Century Breakdown
2. Know Your Enemy
3. Murder City
4. East Jesus Nowhere
5. Holiday
6. Static Age
7. Before The Lobotomy
8. Are We The Waiting
9. St. Jimmy
10. Boulevard of Broken Dreams
11. A Quick One While He's Away (The Who cover)
12. Hitchin' a Ride
13. Welcome To Paradise
14. Stop, Drop, and Roll
15. Eye of The Tiger Intro/ FOD
16. When I Come Around
17. Going To Pasalacqua
18. Stuart and The AVE./Who Wrote Holden Caufield?
19. Iron Man Intro/ Brain Stew
20. Jaded
21. Knowledge (Operation Ivy cover)
22. Basket Case
23. She
24. King For A Day
25. Shout (W/ Earth Angel, I'll be There, and Christie Road)
26. 21 Guns
27. American Eulogy
Encore 1:
28. American Idiot
29. Jesus of Suburbia
30. Minority
Encore 2: Billie Joe Armstrong Acoustic
31. Macy's Day Parade
32. "Say I Love You"
33. Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)

What a ****ing astounding show. The energy level of this band, and of Billie Joe Armstrong is the highest of ANY band I've ever seen. They are on from song one, and they never lull anything. Even the slower songs have a frenetic energy to them, and are played like the band is playing for their lives. Billie Joe is a tremendous frontman, and always has the crowd in the palm of his hands. The only bit of their live show that annoys me is the "bringing "audience" members on stage bit, but I can live with it. The setlist itself is amazing. Murder City made it's tour debut last night, and busted the pre-established opening nine slot. After Boulevard the show became a free for all, with everything from covers, rarities, and even a Foxboro Hot Tubs song. When they broke into the Who cover, I knew I recognized it, but couldn't place it, testament to Green day putting their own stamp on the song. A fw of the other older tracks played around this time I wasn't that familiar with, but hey I'm all for bands throwing in really old tracks. Obviously the major highlight of this section of the set was hearing When I Come Around live, as it's rarely played nowadays, and it's one of my favorite songs. The set went back to normal, but incredibly kickass, for everything from King For A Day through the first encore. The second encore, with Billie only on acoustic guitar, is where the magic really came out. He opened with Macy's Day Parade, and it brought tears to my eyes. The Warning record is one of my all time favs, and this song is absolutely beautiful. Never thought in a million year I'd get to hear it, so I was stoked. Next came a song supposedly titled "Say I Love You" which is an unreleased American Idiot demo track that had never been played before, followed by the classic show-closer Good Riddance. All in all, it was a ****ing amazing show. I'm sill blown away by it.
