I have 2 words for you.

Lucky ****ing bastard.

I only got 26 songs, 2 1/2 hours, looks like you got pushing 4 hours of green day. If only jon sucked it up and pulled out random rarities like billie does. he's played songs in the first 10 shows of the tour that haven't been played in years. He obviously just doesn't care about the casual fan... A song from a side band, an unreleased demo, and 33 songs in a set. Plus numerous covers and pulling peole on stage to play guitar and sing, plus a tour debut. This is how a real concert is supposed to be.

They went on at about 9:15 and ended at about 12:05. Too say that Billie doesn't care about the casual fan is a tad overboard. There were certainly a lot of hits and known songs in the set, but I agree they put on a hell of a show. And it really seemed like the MSG show/New York market, for better or worse, made a huge difference.

I've been thinking about that al night, and I have to say it's absolutely right. However, not in the performance capacity. I saw the band at Giants Stadium in '05, with a 20 song set. I think the root cause of the difference is that on the AI Tour, the band was still in a small venue mindset. Strip away the pyro/fireworks/stage, they were putting on the show that would be done in an 10,000 seat amphitheater. Not that the show was bad, not at all, but the setlist and style were geared towards the type of venues they'd played on the Pop Disaster Tour. Now they seem to really have come into their own as one of the biggest rock bands on the planet.

If Jon pulls people from the crowd to play guitar, I'll come up and play BOBITA!
