Warning for people who haven't bought the album yet: don't by the deluxe version. The regular version was 12.99 and the deluxe was 29.99. All you get is a bigger booklet and a bigger case so it doesn't fit in your cd case. The booklet is just extra pics with lyrics. I wasted 20 bucks for nothing. Anyway, it's really good so far.

Oooooooooo yeah they sure ripped you off. I paid 14.99 for the deluxe version which was just an extra two bucks for me

Listening to it a lot. Still liking the whole album. MAJOR standouts so far are the title track, Last of The American Girls, 21 Guns, and American Eulogy.

I got the deluxe for only 2 dollars more than the regular, and I like the packaging.

I have gave the album one whole listen and I plan on giving it a few more listens to really get my thoughts together on it. However from the first whole listen, I think it's great, but I will say that every track isn't golden like American Idiot was. The first two Acts are just great and the last Act is great with 21 Guns and Horseshoes......I'm going to give the album another run through, a great follow up album though.

There is no progress from American idiot. Which was a well though out concept album with all killer.

21st century breakdown is a mish mash of songs that sound like b sides off American idiot. The concept? well it's impossible to follow.

Very poor effort. Thank god I downloaded it for free.

21st Century Breakdown destroys American Idiot!!!

Was never a fan of A.I.The album i thought was inconsistent out of all the singles that was released for that album,The Title track n Jesus Of Suburbia were the only 1's great.

21st Century Breakdown really flows.I think it has traces of Dookie,Insomaniac and Warning.

Well, off first listen I'm pretty impressed! I do think it's maybe a few tracks too long, and the concept isn't as engaging as American Idiot's, but its got it where it counts ... there are some awesome songs on here! Some first thoughts on some of them:

21st Century Breakdown - I thought it starts off a bit too slowly, but the different sections make it cool

Know Your Enemy - Still not the biggest fan

Christian's Inferno - ****ing rocks!

East Jesus Nowhere - See comment for Christian's Inferno

Peacemaker - Bloody loved it, inventive, different, and brilliantly written

Horseshoes And Handgrenades - I'm not ****ing around!

The Static Age - Green Day goes Beatles, it works though

21 Guns - After seeing it described as "immense" on here I was expecting something completely different, but I think this really really works. Catchy as all hell (I've been going around all day with the chorus stuck in my head), and poignant and powerful to boot. One thing to note, while listening to it I was trying to think what the high vocals in the chorus reminded me of, and it struck me today - they are very similar to those in Say It Isn't So

I know I haven't commented on every track, but those are the ones that stood out to me first time round

I'd have to add in two songs to the walruses list. Viva la gloria (little girl) and see the light. I never really noticed them at first, but now they are quickly becoming my favorites on the album, along with the title track, 21 guns and peacemaker.
