Default Avantasia The Wicked Symphony & Angel of Babylon

If you are into decent symphonic metal and some commercial songs you are right here! Tobias Sammett is a genius - 2 awesome cds with guest slots from Jorn, Eric Singer, Bruce Kulick, Michael Kiske and more!
Worth checking out!

Yeah, I wanted to post this, too, but was obviously too slow.

Check out this song:

The Hans Zimmer-like intro is one of the coolest I've ever heard.
While this is a more a kind of symphonic metal song there are also other, more rock-oriented songs on the albums. A good mixture IMO.

This one's more an epic rock ballad, a little Meat Loaf-ish:

In my book Tobias Sammet is definitely a genius as a songwriter and a really cool singer, too.

I'd love to hear what you people on here think of it.

Hey someone with taste! German greetings! My fave song at the moment is "Runaway Train" - epic melodic stuff!

Yeah, right. Runaway Train is among my favourites, too.

I've got the deluxe package, compiling both albums plus a nice little book by the way. Awesome stuff

Yup me too - awesome set worth having. The bonus tracks for download are cool as well. Quality stuff. Looking forward to the Scorpions/Edguy tour!

The Scarecrow was possibly my favorite album of 2008, so naturally I'm looking forward to these. I've ordered the deluxe box set aswell.

Played through The Wicked Symphony twice now. The title track is one of the best openings to an album ever! Dying For An Angel I'm liking more and more each time I hear it and the video is great. Runaway Train is a standout aswell. I'm yet to listen to Angel of Babylon as I've hardly had time, but can't wait.
