A7X are a GREAT live band, they've really got that gang mentality like GnR used to have. Really really good.

Thier recorded output is a different matter.
They used to be like an LA hardcore band, then with 'City Of Evil' turned out a fantastic sounding hard-rock/retro-metal album. Plenty of nods to Iron Maiden & the like, with some great riffs and some top songs, rocked like a bastard. Also the screaming went out the window and they sounded all the better for it.

Their latest album is really really poor in my opinion. Only 10 tracks long, but at least 6-7 sound like filler. They sound tamer than they ever have done.
The riffs have flat-out gone to pot, it sounds waaaaaay to modern (sell-outs!) for my liking and it doesn't suit them. The majority of the songs are terrible ('A Little Piece Of Heaven' may satisfy some 15 year old Tim Burton fan, but it sounds pretty cringeworthy to me), and the guitar playing is also more restraint (in a bad way!) and nowhere near as good as on 'City Of Evil'.
It sounds like the goddam LostProphets!
On a plus point, M.Shadows voice does sound better than ever.

Sorry to rant on, but i used to love A7X so much till their last release!
