I think Pink is the best current female rock singer. Too bad she's stuck singing pop.

My all-time favorites: Aretha Franklin, Grace Slick, Ann Wilson, Joni Mitchell, KD Lang, Pat Benatar.

I think the BEST female vocalist was Karen Carpenter.

Off the top of my head, my favorite female singer/songwriter is Melissa Etheridge even if she isn't technically the "best vocalist."

Stevie Nicks is incredible but if I can only choose one - Ann Wilson. She can still hit the notes better than these young vocalists can imagine.
I'll be seeing Stevie in March BTY - looking forward to it......

I think Karen Carpenter had an incredible voice. Could listen to her all day. Also think Shania Twain (majority of the time) has/had a great voice. Some of the ballads she belts out made her sound unreal!
