Sad. just sad. 1987 is nothing special from the snake, it's sort of closer to mainstream than their previous ones. U should deff pay more attention to earlier albums....

live in the heart of the city : "mistreated" with the very beginning of "blindman" is incredible

But thatīs only your opinion. I donīt think thereīs nothing sad. People like different things. Some say Crush is Bon Joviīs best album, some say itīs Slippery. Same thing with Whitesnake. Some considers early stuff better than their latest work and vice versa.

Agreed.
But, I still think everyone should take a closer look to artist's roots. Meaning any artist. What comes to snake, in the beginning there was lots of blues.....1987 was more like their cheesiest work To go little further, everyone should deff listen to Deep Purple's "Burn" & "Stormbringer"...Coverdale was simply awesome on those albums.

Agreed, but to me music released in the 60īs and 70īs sounds dated so I rather not listen to it at all. But if I had listened to Whitesnake in the 70īs and early 80īs and then heard 1987 I might think about it just like you did.

I only own 1987 (20th Anniversary Edition), and thinking of buying another album. For me, the singles from 1987 I love, but the album tracks didn't do alot for me, they just all blurred into one. Plus the production is WAY to slick for my liking. (even though I like Hysteria)

But I refuse to judge a band after just hearing one album all the way through. I'm gona get the Silver Anniversary Collection, then see how I feel about buying some others. If not I'll just leave it at that.

coverdale's solo albums are what you really really want...northwinds and into the light are brilliant...

agree with the earlier snake stuff tho blues all the way...what they did to fool for your lovin on slip of the tongue was awful so glad they put the original (and superior) version on the greatest hits...

most recent live album is great too...doug aldrich is just excellent...blues for myleene and snake dance together *sigh*
