Couldn't agree more. The album is very good, but it's not until you really sit down and listen closely, preferably in headphones, that you embrace his voice, the lyrics and the music. For me the songs that hadn't caught my total attention before def. did then and after seeing/hearing the new songs on Jimmy Fallon along with the old time favorite E Street Shuffle, I have high hopes for a great great tour! and I'm especially looking forward to the Paris shows as they are indoors.

My initial opinions (after 4/5 listens) of Wrecking Ball are quite positive. It's easily the best Springsteen record since The Rising, and neck in neck with said record as his best record since BITUSA in 1984.

Intesresting.
You are saying that an album you have owned for 5 mins is as good as BITUSA.
I think thats a strange comparrison - the albums are over 20 years apart!

I think Magic is the better album. It's one of those albums that I literally wore out after so many listens. Wrecking Ball is great, but it just hasn't hit me like Magic did.

I like the sound of Magic better, real instruments and the album has a very good 'vibe' (meh I hate that word). Magic is an album that can make me feel good and get my chin up. WB is an album that says things how they are at the moment and I can relate to that as well.

Both albums work for me

I salute you,
TS

Magic has a really analogue feel to the recording and arrangements. It's just a great sounding album.

As for Wrecking Ball, I still can't comment as my copy still hasn't arrived. Play have really dropped the ****ing ball with this one.

I received my copy (special edition) from cdwow today. I dont get why WOAD and now WB are put in an not practicalsized digipack. Both dont fit in my Cd-storage/shelf.
Magics sound is better but the meaning of the album is less clear to me. WB has an obvious statement hidden in the songs.
I really cant say which of the 2 is better so Ill just with saying that WB is a good album!

I salute you,
TS

Yeah, I don't think there was a grandiose underlying theme to Magic but there were individual songs that took aim at certain things. Magic is just wall to wall brilliance.
