Polishing? What happened to the whole 'stump the band' attitude that The E Street Band is famous for?

In fairness, these songs have been clocking in around 2 hours 45, Bruce usually starts with shorter shows at the start of tours as i understand. By the time he gets a few more under his belt he'll be around 3 hours i'm sure.

Listening to the Tampa boot, Amazing stuff!

Agreed - this is just the beginning. Nils gave an interview recently where he said that these songs would "evolve" on tour.

And yes - the Tampa boot is a gift.

This show clocked in around 2,48 I believe and that is long for an indoor show this early on in the tour.

I really can't write much of an unbiased review. I was so upset after Clarence died last summer that when a new tour was announced I decided to buy tickets to as many close shows as I could (no airplanes but driving was fine). This was due to thinking that there are 2 members missing and and at any time this whole band thing could come to a halt. Not to mention that I'm not getting any younger either. I wound up with 7 shows and the first 2 are over.

There is no point is discussing individual songs here, there are plenty of Bruce sites where you can get that type of discussion. But the overall show - the musicianship - is the best I have ever seen.

In the first six official shows, this band has played 42 different songs. Considering the scant amount of time the new members have had to learn and rehearse many of these, especially the rarer numbers, I am in awe. Many bands, even when playing with only the core members, still stick to a fairly rigid setlist (such as our favorite Bon Jovi band) and are very hesitant to try something old and unrehearsed. However the rate at which Bruce is dropping tour premiers puts this whole group on another level.

And Bruce is in top shape. His voice sounds better than ever - he has more energy than ever and he is lighting the place up with his enthusiasm. After only 6 shows they are almost at 3 hours, even in a 2 night stand.

All I can say is that if you can go see them I would recommend that you do. They won't be around forever and it would be a shame to miss such a good show.
