where did i say that?

the list is based on who has most recognition, as it is a reader vote. dan or justin will be in it this year because the target market sees them as people bring solos back into rock music.

I doubt they would be in the list.

No, but they have been going up the charts in the last few weeks.

86>44 last week
44>24 this week

With a few more festivals around Australia to go, they could get higher.

One thing regarding The Darkness that I'm not sure of is how long they will be successful for. The reason I say this is that I think they are getting a lot of attention because of the novelty factor. ie clothes, Justin's voice. Don't get me wrong, I think they have pretty good music, but the 2nd album for this band will tell a lot about them IMO, as is the case with any band that has a successful debut.
Yes, I do agree with what you have said. They have to prove themselves as songwriters and musicians and hopefully they will do that with the second album.

That maybe so, but also clever too. Who would've known that Growing on me was about a STD when they first heard it? or that Holding my own was about w*anking?
Anyway, as you said, it's their first album afterall, which I might add was written and recorded before they even got a record deal.
In fact, most of the songs were written over 3 years ago!
