They're not exactly the best band, and I can see where you get the "gay image", but isn't it great to see a rock band be successful in the modern over blown world of manufactured pop, rap and hip hop? I think its great to see someone writing their own songs and playing their own music being successful for a change, even if most of the songs have the word "f**k" in them.

"I say whoa, oo-oo-oo-oo-ooah, I'm givin', up givin', up givin', a f**k."

Well, if they can become the next Bon Jovi or Queen, more power to them. They know how to create buzz which is good for them, but I personally don't see them becoming next Bon Jovi. I heard their record and they don't have cock rock songs as prominent as Bad Name or Bad Medicine nor as noble as We Are the Champions.

Totally agree!!

And it's an insult to Freddie to even compare him and Justin! No one can or will top Freddie!

Couldnt agree more!! I think they'll be around for a long time to come. Cant compare the music to Queen but the lead singer reminds me of Freddie, just with the eccentric camp videos, its how Queen started out.

The Darkness Rockkkkk!!!! They are a breath of fresh air and are gonna be massive. Justin (the lead singer) is engaged to Sue Whitehouse, their manager and the rest of the band all have girlfriends too as far as I know.
They sure did rock on TOTP and also on CDUK!

Are they really #2 in the American charts?? wooooohoooo!!!
I'm off to check right now!

There seems to be so many The Darkness threads on this forum lately, can we all try to stick to one please?

Anyway, they have just kicked off their first *headlinig* UK/Dublin tour
and here is a review of the Dublin show, if anyone is interested.
I can't wait for Oct 22nd when I see them at the Hammersmith Apollo!
