I heard somewhere that they were going to re-record (with new artists) or re-release this song/album next year as a 20-year anniversary thing. Anyone know if this is true?

Rapper Timbaland plans to cook up a remake of "We Are The World," the 1980s' star studded benefit track that raised up to $90 million for famine relief in Africa. Timberland's version "The World Is Ours," will be an effort to benefit Youth AIDS and Qunicy Jones' Listen Up Foundation. Missy Elliot and Justin Timberlake have already signed on to cowrite the project. Similar to the original, which featured up to 40 vocalists, "The World Is Ours" will call on contemporary music's most gifted voices. Quincy Jones has already co-signed the project, which is set to be released in spring 2004 through Timbo's Beat Club/Interscope records.
