"Let Me Be The One" from the album
X.
Interesting song choice, especially considering the
X album has been largely abandoned since it's 2002/2003 tour.
X is an album I probably listen to the least and I find most of the songs, including this one, blur into one. However seeing it performed live now (well, 2019) I'm feeling a (slight) new found appreciation for it. It's nothing special and when when it comes to ballads, the band have got plenty of other to choose from when it comes to playing live, but this performance helps it stand out for me and I'd probably now go as far as saying it's probably one of the last decent ballads that they've written. "Long, Long Way to Go" was not written by the band so it looses out to this one and none of the others from
Songs from the Sparkle Lounge or
Def Leppard really did anything for me.
It's still nice to see the band representing some of their lesser-achknowledged albums even if they're considered weaker and they pulled this one off nicely.
