Default Favourite Cover Song

A lot of songs in todays charts are simply covers of old tracks, but which covers are your favourites? Are there any you prefer to the original?
Not just recent ones either, if you like an old one, mention that too.

I really like the version of Johnny B Goode recorded for the Back To The Future movie in 1985. I don't know who sang it or played the guitar, but I much prefer it to the original Chuck Berry version.

I also prefer Bon Jovi's version of The Boys Are Back In Town to the original Thin Lizzy one (which I still like nonetheless). I think the drumming is much better and the guitar too (obviously biased by being a Bon Jovi fan, lol)

I also think that the version of We Are The Champions that Queen did with Robbie Williams for the movie A Knights Tale was good too.

no, no, no, that song can only be done by Thin Lizzy. The vocals, man!!!! It has so much more punch to it. Obviously, jmho

I don't like covers. The only one I like and actually prefer is GnR's version of "Knocking on Heaven's Door". Axl's sure got that one down.

Aerosmith doing the Yardbirds' "Train Kept a-Rolling" is magnificant. Heaps better than the original.

I like Nickelback and Kid Rock doing Elton John's "Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting"

Vince Neil covering Sabbath's "Paranoid"

i know i'll think of more later....

I think Bon Jovi did a good job on Neil Young's Rockin' In The Free World. That might be my fav cover song.
