Default Springsteen sounding like Bon Jovi?

We all know that Bon Jovi got major influences by The Boss, but this time around I get a little bit Bon Jovi feelings over the new Springsteen single Radio Nowhere. The chords go Em- C- G - D/F#, a chordprogression Jovi have used a lot, including Complicated (Am - F - C - G).

They both asks the nearly the same question:

Is there anybody (alive) out there?

Just for the record: I'm not saying Bruce is ripping of Jovi, I just found this little fact a little bit cool

Yeah - this Bruce album definitely sounds more like Bon Jovi than Bon Jovi sounds like Bruce. It's much more melodic with lots of hooks - very un Bruce like.

However "Is anybody alive out there" is one of Bruce's longtime questions from the stage. It's on the same level as Jon saying for 20 years "How you doing out there - OK?

Or the common variation: "How we doin' so far - OK?"

Nice and re-assuring to hear

I know what you mean......I have older workmates who are lending me the Springsteen back catalogue one at a time, in order from the beginning which i'm listening to. The other way round, you can really tell that Bon Jovi have been influenced by Bruce by the odd bits and bobs in Bruce's songs. I can't put a point on it but just bits here and there.

As for the 'Complicated' progression, even though it's the same intervals in a different key, it doesn't have anywhere near as good an effect on me as the progression in G major. Strange.

Ya know i've heard this song 3 or 4 times on VH1 and the first time i heard it i really got a Bon Jovi vibe from it too. I could easily honestly see Richie singing/writing a song like this, as well as seeing the band do it.

(cue me on the big screen) JBJ: "How good have you been? Oh My God!" (laughs, more teasing) JBJ: "You want it huh, you want it huh? Blood on Blood just for you, the good girl in the front row? The all request hour, the girl in the front row has just asked for Blood on Blood, ok, Merry Christmas young lady!" Amazing <3

Where you have your ears? Magic sounds nothing like BJ-otherwise I wouldnt have bought it! I cant see any country crap in there. This album rocks (and springsteen is way older than JBJ! But he can still do it!)

He was talking about a chord comparison between Radio Nowhere and Complicated. It was an intelligent comparison - not mindless bashing as you seem to want to do at all times.

JBJ - I believe

"Sambora's face is a mask of joyous disbelief, as if previously unaware of his ability to play the instrument at all. Reaching the last fistful of notes, he does a fair impression of a man who is actually ejaculating into his jet black flares."

My ears is placed at each side of my head, where most people have them.
As others said, I was talking about Radio Nowhere, not the album Magic.
However you can say Bruce and Bons latest album have one more similarity:
They're both weak compared to previous albums.
Magic is a bit disappointing It's very radiofriendly. Reminds me a lot of The River (the album), which is far from Bruces best album.
