I have an even simpler question: Given your track record, why should you EXPECT to be booked? So that you can do a little "cash grabbing" of your own?

If you don't want to do a gig, JUST SAY NO. If you don't want your management doing things without clearing them with you first, take away their authority to do so -- though at this point, I imagine you're at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to finding management who is WILLING to work with you.
