Default The Soundtrack to Your Life

What songs are you hearing that help make sense of your life right now?

"Lie to Me" is striking a chord atm.

GnR's "Better" ****ing nails it.

----

It'd be enough
But just my luck
I fell in love and maybe

All that I wanted was

Now I know you better
You know I know better
Now I know you better

So bittersweet
This tragedy
Won't ask for absolution

This melody
Inside of me
Still searches for solution

A twist of faith
A change of heart
Cures my infatuation

A broken heart
Provides the spark
For my determination

to be honest stuff that lets me escape reality in KSA for an hour or so is pretty high on the list.

When I'm full of james bonjour joveus february vintage 2010 anything will do but when i actually need some music then sigur ros and explosions in the sky are the job.

bruce and the gaslight anthem are also getting heavy rotation just now but without icelandic dialect in the vocals they just cant quite completely remove me from the shitty surroundings

Right now, two songs by the Trews are high on the list - Locked Doors and The Traveling Kind. I highly recommend checking this band out

I love the Trews! Ive seen them live 3 times already as they come here so damn often. Lots of energy and lots of fun at their gigs.

anyway, this song pretty much sums it up for me:

Every time our eyes meet
This feeling inside me
Is almost more than I can take
Baby when you touch me
I can feel how much you love me
And it just blows me away
I've never been this close to anyone or anything
I can hear your thoughts
I can see your dreams

I don't know how you do what you do
I'm so in love with you
It just keeps getting better
I want to spend the rest of my life
With you by my side
Forever and ever
Every little thing that you do
Baby, I'm amazed by you

The smell of your skin
The taste of your kiss
The way you whisper in the dark
Your hair all around me
Baby you surround me
You touch every place in my heart
Oh, it feels like the first time, every time
I want to spend the whole night in your eyes

Every little thing that you do
I'm so in love with you
It just keeps getting better
I want to spend the rest of my life
With you by my side
Forever and ever
Every little thing that you do
Baby, I'm amazed by you

There are different songs throughout the year that suits the situation I find myself in.
At this moment, the song 'Gotten' of Slash's album is one of those songs:

So nice to see your face again
Tell me how long has it been
Since you've been here
(Since you've been here)
You look so different than before
You're still the person I adore
Frozen with fear
All out of love but I take it from the past
All out of words cause I'm sure it'll never last

I've been saving these last words for one last miracle
But now I'm not sure
I can't save you if you don't let me
You just get me like I've never been gotten before

Maybe it's a bitter wind
That chilled from the pacific rim
That brought you this way
(Brought you my way)
Do not make me think of him
The way he touched your fragile skin
That haunts me every day
I'm out of love but I can't forget the past
I'm out of words but I'm sure it'll never last

I've been saving these last words for one last miracle
But now I'm not sure
I can't save you if you don't let me
You just get me like I've never been gotten before
Like I've never been gotten before

Slash Solo

So nice to see your face again
But tell me will this ever end
Don't disappear

I've been saving these last words for one last miracle
But now I'm not sure
And I can't save you if you don't let me
You just get me like I've never been gotten before
Like I've never been gotten before

I salute you,
TS

There's like 100 songs that describe my life/feelings these days.

However, for now, I'll just post the lyrics to the two songs that seem to describe my feelings permanetly. They're both rather down&out lyrics but with upbeat music - pretty much describes me 100%

This first one, I SWEAR was written for me.

Dancing In The Dark
Written by Bruce Springsteen

I get up in the evening
and I ain't got nothing to say
I come home in the morning
I go to bed feeling the same way
I ain't nothing but tired
Man I'm just tired and bored with myself
Hey there baby, I could use just a little help

You can't start a fire
You can't start a fire without a spark
This gun's for hire
even if we're just dancing in the dark

Message keeps getting clearer
radio's on and I'm moving 'round the place
I check my look in the mirror
I wanna change my clothes, my hair, my face
Man I ain't getting nowhere
I'm just living in a dump like this
There's something happening somewhere
baby I just know that there is

You can't start a fire
you can't start a fire without a spark
This gun's for hire
even if we're just dancing in the dark

You sit around getting older
there's a joke here somewhere and it's on me
I'll shake this world off my shoulders
come on baby the laugh's on me

Stay on the streets of this town
and they'll be carving you up alright
They say you gotta stay hungry
hey baby I'm just about starving tonight
I'm dying for some action
I'm sick of sitting 'round here trying to write this book
I need a love reaction
come on now baby gimme just one look

You can't start a fire sitting 'round crying over a broken heart
This gun's for hire
Even if we're just dancing in the dark
You can't start a fire worrying about your little world falling apart
This gun's for hire
Even if we're just dancing in the dark

And for this one, it's more really the verses that I relate to than most of the chorus.

The Sun Always Shines On TV
(written by a-ha)

I reached inside myself and found
Nothing there to ease the pressure of my ever worrying mind
All my powers waste away
I fear the crazed and lonely looks the mirror's sending me these days

Touch me
How can it be
Believe me
The sun always shines on t.v.
Hold me
Close to your heart.
Touch me
And give all your love to me.

Please don't ask me to defend
The shameful lowlands of the way I'm drifting gloomily through time
I reached inside myself today
Thinking there's got to be some way to keep my troubles distant

Touch me
How can it be
Believe me
The sun always shines on t.v.
Hold me
Close to your heart
Touch me
And give all your love to me.
To me.

Great video btw.
